F. (Francis) Henry Edwards was born August 4, 1897 at Birmingham, England. He was baptized into the RLDS Church on November 3, 1905. On April 27, 1916 he was ordained to the office of Priest at Birmingham England. During World War I he was a conscientious objector and refused to join the British Army. He was sentenced to 112 days hard labor in prison but was later released. In April 1920 he was ordained an Elder at Birmingham England and went under RLDS Church appointment. He emigrated to the United States and attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa. On October 13, 1922 he was ordained an Apostle by President Elbert A. Smith & Apostle J. Frank Curtis. He was married to Alice M. Smith (daughter of Fred M. Smith) on June 27, 1924. He became a US citizen in 1938. He was ordained a Counselor in the First Presidency of the RLDS Church April 10, 1946 by Apostle Myron A. McConley, Apostle Edmund J. Gleazer Sr., President of the High Priests Quorum Ward A. Hougas & Presiding Bishop G. Leslie Delapp. On October 8, 1958 he was again ordained a Counselor in the First Presidency of the RLDS Church by Apostle Arthur A. Oakman, Apostle Charles R. Hield, President of the High Priests Quorum Ward A. Hougas & Presiding Bishop G. Leslie Delapp. He was honorably released from the First Presidency April 18, 1966. He was superannuated and retired from Church appointment April 6, 1970. He passed away December 1, 1991.

Evans left the RLDS Church in 1918 and started a new Church, the Church Of The Christian Brotherhood, with many former RLDS Church members in Canada. R. C. Evans was later excommunicated by the RLDS Church and shortly thereafter died on January 18, 1921 of pneumonia.
