The author states, "Part first of this pamphlet is a brief address to those who have not read the Book of Mormon, and who are not conversant with the denominations that believe in that book. Part second is an address to all believers in the Book of Mormon."

The author states, "Latter Day Saints will understand what I claim to have been called and sent to do if they shall recall the work prophesied of Baurak Ale in Doc. & Cov. 98, 7 and 8; 100, 3-6; B. M. (Lamoni. ed.) p. 60-4; pp. 464-466; letter to W. W. Phelps, Nov. 27, 1832. Baurak or Barak is Hebrew for lightning-thunderbolt. Ale is a phonetic spelling of the Hebrew sounding of the name Eli, shortening of the name Elijah or Elias, which means my God-See Matt. 27, 46 and 47."

The author states, " As this pamphlet is addressed to Latter Day Saints, no attempt will be here made to prove the need for the community organization known by them as the redemption of Zion. The ministry of at least the Reorganized Church, has been long teaching that truth and three years ago Revelations 128 and 129, D. & C., were included in the Church covenant as that direction of God which we are morally and spiritually bound to put into operation without unnecessary delay."

The author states, "Misjudge me not now, I adjure you; for, as the welfare of the Church and its usefulness to man depend largely upon your willingness to be upon the side of Him who was and still is 'despised and rejected of men,' even so at this moment, it is being weighed by your disposition towards 'the servant' whom He has allotted to organize Zion. D. & C., Sec. 100-4-5-6. I am not complaining of this humiliation; for it is humiliation in the view of worldly men only."

The author references a sermon by the Presiding Bishop of the RLDS Church in the Saints' Herald September 2, 1908, which he disagrees with. The author states, "The Lord having definitely directed us to wait until after Zion's redemption, by what right does the Bishop now proceed to give out stewardships connected with 'the commandments concerning Zion?' Let us further consider consecration and stewardships."

Discusses the financial law, its requirements and how to comply as set for by the Lamoni, Iowa Stake Bishopric. Also discusses the law of one tenth, care for the poor and complete consecration.

This is a revised version of the 1864 pamphlet. It was revised by Joseph Smith, III and W. W. Blair. He states, "The year has been one of readjustment, and it was not expected, at least by the officials of the church, that this needed readjustment would be instantaneous or that our ranks would remain intact; for not a little time had been consumed in leading to the crisis of last conference; and hence the probability of considerable time being needed for the readjustments leading to more desirable conditions; and battles are always accompanied by casualties."

The author states, "There is much quibbling and doubt among Christian churches throughout the land regarding secret societies. Excerpts from account of visit of the angel Moroni to Joseph Smith, Jr.

The author states, "One of the most prolific sources of misunderstanding in regard to religion is the refusal to acknowledge that there has been a universal departure from the original gospel as taught by Christ. Most people are aware that such an event as the Reformation was the reactionary result of the great abuses which had obtained in the Roman Catholic Church; yet it seldom occurs to the minds of these people that to concede the need of a reformation is a tacit admission that an apostasy from the true gospel had taken place; otherwise the so-called reformation was not only unnecessary, but actually an evil."

Brother Curtis states, "In the year 60 A. D. the Apostle Peter made a statement concerning priesthood. He said: 'Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.'-1 Peter 2:5. Again in the ninth verse he says: 'But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood.' Some individuals have claimed that there was no priesthood after Christ, but the statement of the Apostle Peter gives us to understand that the authority of the priesthood was still in the church at the time he wrote his epistle, which is dated A. D. 60."
